The Yamaha Dtxplorer pads are of rubber, with suprisingly realistic feel, maybe not as good as more expensive drums, but they do the job very well. The kit looks great and blends nicely into most environments like your living room, bedroom etc. At first you might feel that the bass drum pad will break if you hit it too hard, but don’t worry, I’ve had the kit for almost 6 months now, and it haven’t broken, nor has it lost any sensitivity, even with the beating it has sustained from my double bass playing. Don’t worry, the kit will hold up very good. Transportation is really simple, as you can fold it to at least half it’s size without removing any parts. It’s not something I would use on stage, but for home practice it’s really good. A downside is that it doesn’t have chokable cymbals, but you can add those easily, and you can also add another pad to the kit by plugging it in at the bass drum.
